HISTORIC YORK
DAY 1 : After being collected from your home around 8.30am, we travel to York, stopping on route for a comfort break and lunch before arriving at the hotel mid-afternoon. 
 
DAY 2 : After breakfast we have arranged for a leisurely walking tour of the city centre with a local guide. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to take advantage of the position of the hotel and visit some of the attractions of York. Whether you want to visit York Minster, walk along the city walls (the best preserved in England), visit a museum or art gallery or just relax in a café bar and watch the world go by - York offers it all. 
 
DAY 3 : (March) After breakfast we head off for a visit to Harrogate. This Victorian Spa Town is a touch of class with its delightful architecture, shopping arcades and parks. Plenty of time to explore before returning to the hotel mid/late afternoon. 
(June & August) We shall be joined by our excellent local guide to discover some of the lovely surrounding countryside as we head on to the Yorkshire Moors in to ‘Heartbeat’ country. 
 
DAY 4 : (March) Today we allow more time at leisure in the town. 
(June & August) An optional excursion today with a chance to visit Castle Howard. This magnificent 18th Century historic house is set within 1000 acres of breathtaking parkland and gardens and is dotted with temples, lake statues and fountains. This truly amazing destination was famously used in the seminal Brideshead Revisited TV drama. Entrance extra - approximately £10. 
 
DAY 5 : We depart and head home. Returning to your home via our home collection service late afternoon.
